Choosing a Pizza Dough

I would suggest using a plain pizza dough so that the dough complements the toppings instead of interfering with the flavors. I typically shop at Trader Joe’s and always try to buy their wheat pizza dough, however, they have not carried it for a while now. I am not sure if that is just my Trader Joe’s or all of them. If yours doesn’t carry wheat pizza dough, I would recommend getting plain dough instead of the garlic and herb (even though that one is SO good!).

How to Make Hummus Flatbread

STEP 1: Prep the pizza

Roll out your dough to the shape you want. Spread hummus on top of the dough.

Next, layer on the toppings.

STEP 2: Bake

Cook it in the oven for 10-15 minutes at 475 degrees Fahrenheit or until the dough is cooked through.

It is best when served right away so it’s hot and crispy!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Make This Hummus Flatbread Vegan/Dairy-Free?

Yes! This flatbread can be “veganized” very easily by simply omitting the feta and it won’t compromise the flavor much! You could also try topping it with a dairy-free feta if you still want that tangy feta flavor.

Can I Make This Hummus Flatbread Gluten-Free?

Absolutely! You can replace the pizza dough with a gluten-free dough. Some other yummy gluten-free options you could try are a cauliflower, broccoli, or almond flour crust.
